The Wennovate.net initiative is about the core process of innovation: how to do it better? Innovation literature falls mainly into the 'evangelical' genre, and the 'picking winners' how-to books. The first is concerned with the excitement and rewards of an innovation mindset, and the latter is busy sorting out which innovation project to invest in. What is missing is the raw generic analysis of how innovation happens: how to come up with something new that solves a nagging problem, that exploits a golden opportunity; how to render the unknown into known. This missing topic is what Wennovate.net is all about. We take aim at the innovation process per-se. What is an innovator to do, how should he or she go about their business of discovery, of acquiring new knowledge, of creating newness -- efficiently! This site represents many years of dedicated research into the generic aspects of innovation. We bring a wealth of procedures, practices, rules, forms, maps, metrics -- detailed, thematic, tailored, and universal, helping you, the innovator, take your creativity a step further. An athletic coach cannot replace the athlete on the tracks, but he sure can make him perform better. Similarly, Wennovate cannot replace your ingenuity, your in-depth understanding of your subject matter, but we sure can improve your efficiency by channeling, stimulating, and mapping your genius to achieve accelerated innovation progress. Innovation is the universal hope for humanity to survive its ill, and thrive through its challenges. By boosting its efficiency across the board we do quite a lot of good. Would you join us? Read our publications, participate in our courses, and seminars, and thereby enlist as a "Wennovator" -- get our newsletter (coming soon), participate in our community-innovation projects, and be part of the Wennovation family. Wennovate.net is lead by Prof. Gideon Samid, his colleagues, and his students. Come join! Wennovate.net is a joint initiative by the Innovation Appraisal Group at The School of Engineering, Case Western Reserve University, and D&G Sciences -- Virginia Technology Corporation. |
