Wennovation: The Wikipedia for innovators:

Innovation today runs in the Encyclopedia Britannica mode -- led by appointed titular sages. Britannica, despite being the most respected encyclopedia around, finds itself outread by a nemesis that emerged from the opposite side of the tracks. Wikipedia -- chaotic and error prone -- is where you and I quench our thirst for knowledge. Wikipedia beats the old queen of documented knowledge by its singular advantage: it's Darwinistic. The miracle of human beings is a result of errors, missteps, error corrected, steps retraced -- over and over again. And it's the same process that enlivens Wikipedia. Wennovation -- Self Organizing Innovation -- is a bold attempt to do a "Wikipedia" over the traditional linear framework of grant-driven, VC-powered Research and Development. The Wennovation principles are: (1) Separation between innovation planning and innovation execution; (2) Innovation planning is presented to the relevant community (limited or open), and the community can readily review and counter propose original innovation pathways. The bubbling alternatives are then sorted out akin to Google's ranking mechanism to form a wisdom-of-crowd best plan -- execution thereof is contract based. The Wennovation framework provides for proper accounting of IP rights.
